Biography
I am an eye doctor with specialisation in eyelid plastic surgery and surgery to correct watering eye problems. I am a graduate from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. After graduation, I did my house officer (houseman) training at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I spent another 2 years as a medical officer in order to sit for the MRCP examinations. I had a memorable work experience in general medicine (internal medicine). I was the resuscitation officer at the Coronary Care Unit, a senior house officer in oncology, and also worked in intensive therapy unit (ITU). I am extremely blessed to have worked in these medical specialities before becoming an ophthalmologist. I went to England to pursue my training in ophthalmology. My training took me to many places in England. I was in Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Plymouth, Taunton, Torbay, Exeter, Southampton, Salisbury and finally back to Leeds before returning to Kuala Lumpur. I was an honorary consultant ophthalmologist at Leeds University Teaching Hospital. I lived in the UK for 19 years before deciding to return to Malaysia in 2013. At present I am based in Beacon Hospital. I enjoy aquaponics gardening and making sourdough bread when I am not at work. “‘The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.”

Blocked tear duct often presents with watering eye. In some cases, recurrent eye infections. DCR is an operation which can treat blocked tear duct. Endoscopic DCR is minimally invasive as it leaves no visible scar unlike traditional external DCR surgery.
