Biography

Currently the Chief Executive Officer of a private Oncology Clinic and Daycare Centre in Johor Bahru, Malaysia since April 2012, that provides oncology treatment services at affordable rate to low income patients. With over 30 years of oncological experience, he is a sessional and visiting Consultant Clinical Oncologist of several hospitals and medical centres across Malaysia, including Columbia-Asia Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Kempas Medical Centre, Landmark Medical Centre, Penawar Medical Centre and Kensington Green Specialist Centre in Johor, Malaysia, and Pantai Hospital, Sunway Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Advances in Modern Oncology Research (AMOR) Journal since 2015. Since 2000, as Key Opinion Leader in the field of oncology in Malaysia, he has been involving in many advisory board meetings for various international pharmaceutical companies in Malaysia, including Roche, Bayer, Novartis, Merck & Co., Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly & Co. and Boehringer Ingelheim. In 2001, Dr. Ahmad Radzi was the first to introduce the Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) technology into Malaysia. Prior to that, he was the Head of Oncological Services and was responsible for setting up the first Oncology Services including radiation facilities in the southern city of Malaysia - Johor Bahru in 1999. From 1997 to 1999, he was Head and Associate Professor of the Clinical Oncology Unit in the Department of Radiology, National University of Malaysia Teaching Hospital. During which, he was sent to St Bartholomew's Hospital, United Kingdom from 1987 to 1990 to pursue specialist training in the field of clinical oncology. From 1993 to 1998, he also involved in multiple clinical trials in treating Locally Advance Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, Chemotherapy-Induced Anaemia, Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Advanced Stage Cervical Cancer. He is member of several Oncological society which includes American Society of Medical Oncology (ASCO) since 2003, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) since 2008, European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) since2010. He is also a life member of Malaysian Oncological Society (MOS) and Academy of Medicine (AM) Malaysia. Dr. Ahamad Radzi received Fellow of the Faculty of Radiologists, Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland) in 1991, Diploma in Radiology Therapy at University of London, Royal College of Radiologists (United Kingdom) in 1989 and M.D at National University of Malaysia (Malaysia) in 1984, and has a Good Clinical Practice certificate.
