Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physician (FRACP) Fellowship in Cancer Clinical Trials (NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, Sydney)


Dr Ahmad Sufian is a consultant medical oncologist, clinician researcher and internal medicine specialist who received his full RACP training in New Zealand and Australia. He completed his post-doc medical oncology fellowship in cancer clinical trials at NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, Sydney, and John Hopkins certificate programs in clinical trials and systematic reviews. His oncology interests have been in the spheres of lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, genito-urinary cancer, immuno-oncology, precision/ genomic cancer, real-world outcomes studies, therapeutic drug monitoring, and cancer treatment sequencing. He is an active member of various oncology organizations including ASCO, ESMO, AACR, MOGA and various cancer cooperative groups including TOGA, ANZUP, AGITG, COGNO, and ANZGOG. He is also a member of Cochrane Citizen Scientist Program and has been active in the systematic review programs. He is an affiliate member of Australian Clinical Trials Alliance and Society of Clinical Trials. Upon returning to Malaysia, he joined Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) in 2021 as a medical oncologist and clinical lecturer. The period was sufficient to demonstrate the challenges faced by our cancer patients in the east coast and nationally. He left USM and strengthened Cancer CRI Centre initiatives to address these challenges. Dr Ahmad Sufian founded Cancer CRI Centre in May 2021 and established this social business model to advance the cancer care, research, and innovation ecosystem in Malaysia.
