Biography
The Falls and Syncope Services at the University of Malaya Medical Centre has been operational since 2014. We treated over 1000 patients who experienced unsteadiness, dizziness, falls or faints. Our service is highly research active and have received over RM2 million in research grant funding from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. As a results, we have state-of-the-art equipment to conduct accurate tests in order to ensure individually-tailored treatment strategies for our clients.

Autonomic function tests
Our equipment is also able to assess the function of autonomic nervous system which is commonly affected in people with conditions such as diabetes and Parkinson's disease.
Tilt-table testing
Our clinical laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to conduct tilt-table testing which is a test to diagnose causes of fainting.
Blackouts
We evaluate those who have had episodes of loss of consciousness to find out what could have caused these episodes. Common causes include medications, low blood pressure and heart conditions. We will then provide lifestyle advise and develop treatment strategies to reduce the risk of future episodes.
Falls Prevention
We evaluate older adults at risk of falls or who have fallen to reduce risk of future falls
